I study how labor markets work in developing countries, with a focus on informal employment and on what happens when social insurance is extended to workers who sit outside a formal contract. Most of my work uses Mexican administrative and survey microdata to evaluate policies that are already on the books.
I am a Research Economist in the Real Sector Research Division at Banco de México. I hold a PhD in Economics from Stanford University, where I was a Knight-Hennessy Scholar, and BA and MA degrees from ITAM.
